Change of Degree Positive Comparative Superlative

 Degree হল Adjective এর রূপভেদ। এটি ৩টি ভাগে বিভক্ত।

1.    Positive Degree

2.    Comparative Degree

3.    Superlative Degree

1. Positive Degree: কোন Sentence এ Noun বা pronoun এর দোষ, গুন, অবস্থা ইত্যাদি বুঝাতে adjective এর যে রূপ ব্যবহার হয় তাকে Positive Degree বলে।

Example: Mr John is a good man.

2. Comparative Degree: সাধারণত দুটি Noun বা pronoun এর দোষ, গুন, অবস্থা ইত্যাদির তুলনা বুঝাতে adjective এর যে রূপ ব্যবহার হয় তাকে Comparative Degree বলে।

Example: John is wiser than Kareem.

3. Superlative Degree: সাধারণত অনেকের মধ্যে তুলনা বুঝাতে adjective এর যে রূপ ব্যবহার হয় তাকে Superlative Degree বলে।

Example: John is the best player in the team.

Note: Superlative Degree তে of ব্যবহৃত হয় ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুুর ক্ষেত্রে এবং স্থানের ক্ষেত্রে in/on বসে।

Example:
1. Adam is the most intelligent boy of all our friends.
2. She is the best girl in the class.

Positive into comparative

→No other যুক্ত positive Degree কে Comparative Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. প্রদত্ত sentence এর শেষের subject বসে।

2. Verb বসে।

3. Positive degree এর comparative form বসে।

4. than any other বসে।

5. No other এর পর থেকে verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত বসে।

Positive: No other boy in the class is as good as John.

Comparative: John is better than any other boy in the class.

→Very few/few যুক্ত positive Degree কে Comparative Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1.প্রদত্ত sentence এর শেষের subject বসে।

2. Verb বসে।

3. Positive degree এর comparative form বসে।

4. than most other বসে।

5. Very few এর পর থেকে verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত বসে।

Positive: Very few students are as good as John.
Comparative: John is better than most other students.

→As……as যুক্ত positive Degree কে Comparative Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. প্রদত্ত sentence এর শেষের subject বসে।

2. Verb বসে।

3. Not বসে। (sentence টি affirmative হলে not বসে। sentence টি negative হলে not উঠে যায়।

4. Positive degree এর comparative form বসে।

5. than বসে।

6. প্রদত্ত sentence এর প্রথম subject বসে।

Positive: John is as good as his brother
Comparative: His brother is not better than John.

Or: John is not less than good his brother.

→As soon as যুক্ত Positive Degree কে Comparative Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. As soon as এর পরিবর্তে No sooner had বসে ।

2. Subject বসে।

3. Verb এর Past form এর পরিবর্তে Verb এর Past participle বসে ।

4. (,) এর পূর্বের অংশ বসে। 5. কমা এর পরিবর্তে than বসে + বাকী অংশ বসে।

Positive: As soon as the mother came, the baby stopped crying.

Comparative: No sooner had the mother come than the baby stopped crying.

Positive into superlative:

→No other যুক্ত positive degree কে superlative degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1.প্রদত্ত sentence এর শেষের Subject বসে।

2. Verb বসে।

3. The বসে।

4. Positive এর superlative form বসে।

5. No other এর পর থেকে verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত বসে।

Positive: No other boy in the class is as good as John.
Superlative: John is the best boy in the class.

→Very few যুক্ত positive degree কে superlative degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ                                    

1.প্রদত্ত sentence এর শেষের Subject বসে।

2. Verb বসে।

3. One of the বসে।

4. Positive এর superlative form বসে।

5. Very few এর পর থেকে verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত বসে।

Positive: Very few men in the village are as tall as John.
Superlative: John is one of the tallest men in the village.

Comparative into Positive

 

→Than any other/all other যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. No other বসে।

2. than any other/all other এর পরের অংশ বসে।

3. Verb বসে।

4. so/as বসে।

5. Comparative Degree এর Positive form বসে।

6. as বসে।

7. প্রদত্ত sentence এর subject বসে।

Comparative: John is greater than any other boy in the class.
Positive: No other boy in the class is as good as John.

→Than most other / than few other যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. Very few বসে।

2. than most other/than few other এর পরের অংশ বসে।

3. Verb এর plural form বসে।

4. so/as বসে।

5. Comparative এর Positive form বসে।

6. as বসে।

7. প্রদত্ত sentence এর subject বসে।

Comparative: Gold is more useful than most other metals.
Positive: Very few metals are as/so useful as gold.

→Than যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. than এর পরের অংশ বসে।

2. Verb বসে।

3. Not বসে।

4. so/as বসে।

5. Comparative এর Positive form বসে।

6. as বসে।

7. প্রদত্ত sentence এর subject বসে।

Comparative: Laboni is bigger than Erica.
Positive: Erica is not as big as Laboni.

→No less/not less ……..than যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. No less/not less এর পরিবর্তে উক্ত যায়গায় as বসে

2. than এর পরিবর্তে উক্ত যায়গায় as বসে। আর কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না।

Comparative: He is no less/not less intelligent than you.
Positive: He is as intelligent as you.

→No sooner had ….than যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. No sooner had এর পরিবর্তে as soon as বসে।

2. Subject বসে।

3. Verb এর past participle এর পরিবর্তে verb এর past form বসে।

4. than এর পূর্বের অংশ বসে।

5. than এর পরিবর্তে কমা বসে + বাকী অংশ বসে।

Comparative: No sooner had he seen me than she ran away.
Positive: As soon as he saw me, she ran away.

Comparative into superlative

→Than any other যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. Subject + verb বসে।

2. The বসে।

3. Comparative এর superlative form বসে।

4. than any other এর পরের অংশ বসে।

Comparative: Erica is better than any other girl in the class.
Superlative: Erica is the best girl in the class.

Note – other এর পর plural noun থাকলে superlative এর পরে of all বসে।

Comparative: Erica is taller than all other girls.
Superlative: Erica is the tallest of all girls.

→Than most other/than few other যুক্ত Comparative কে Superlative এ রুপান্তর করার নিয়ম:

1. Subject + verb বসে।

2. One of the বসে।

3. Comparative degree এর superlative form বসে।

4. than most other/ than few other এর পরের অংশ বসে।

Comparative: London is more beautiful than most other cities in the world.
Superlative: London is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Superlative into Positive

 

→Superlative Degree এর আগে ‘The’ যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. No other বসে।

2. প্রদত্ত Superlative এর পরের অংশ + verb বসে।

3. so/as + Superlative Degree এর Positive form বসে।

4. as বসে।

5. মূল sentence এর subject বসে।

Superlative: Rocky is the smallest player in the team.
Positive: No other player in the team is as small as Rocky.

→One of the, all other, most other, many other, few other যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1.প্রথমে very few বসে।

2. Superlative এর পরের অংশ বসে।

3. Verb এর plural form বসে।

4. so/as বসে।

5. Superlative Degree এর Positive form বসে।

6. As + মূল sentence এর subject বসে।

Superlative: He is one of the best boys in the class.
Positive: Very few boys in the class are as good as he.

Superlative into Comparative

→Superlative Degree এর আগে ‘The’ যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Comparative Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. Subject + verb বসে।

2. Superlative এর comparative form বসে।

3. than any other বসে।

4. প্রদত্ত sentence বাকী অংশ বসে।

Superlative: He is the best boy in the class.
Comparative: He is better than any other boy in the class.

Note: All of/of all থাকলে all of/of all এর পরিবর্তে than all other বসে। of any থাকলে of

Any এর পরিবর্তে than any other বসে।

Superlative: She is the best of all women.
Comparative: She is better than all other women.

→One of the যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Comparative Degree তে রুপান্তর করার নিয়মঃ

1. Subject + verb বসে।

2. Superlative এর comparative form বসে।

3. than most other বসে।

4. প্রদত্ত sentence বাকী অংশ বসে।

Superlative: John is one of the best boys in the class.
Comparative: John is better than most other boys in the class.
