'Small' vs. 'Little'

'πŸ’Small' and 'Little'πŸ’

πŸ‘‰The words ‘little’ and ‘small’ refer to size which indicates that something is not big.

'πŸ‘‰Small’ is the opposite of big. It can be used to talk about height or size of something.

'Small groups gathered in the big conference room.'

'Janice is small for her age.'

This means Janice is not tall or big enough for her age.

πŸ‘‰When we talk about someone or something smaller than us, we use the word 'little' to describe the size of the person or object relative to us. We do not use 'small' in such situations.

'That’s a clever little puppy!'

'The poor little girl was scared of the tiger.'
