πWhat does 'I'm broke' mean? π
πIf you say you are 'broke' it means you have no money.
You might use ‘broke’ to refer to a particular situation:
'Sorry I can’t go to the movies, I am broke this week and I only get paid on Monday.'
'I can't treat my mum for her birthday. I'm broke.'
In the longer term ‘broke’ can refer to a situation in which you are completely out of money.
'Her business failed and she lost her house. She’s totally broke.'
'He's broke and can't provide for his family. I feel so sorry for him.'
